Mentorship Program
The Animal Welfare Economics Mentorship Program is designed to support PhD students and early-career scholars working at the intersection of economics and animal welfare. Our mentorship program connects graduate students with experienced faculty mentors who share their interests.
Who
Applicants should be enrolled in a PhD program or should have completed their PhD within the last two years. We accept applicants in economics and adjacent disciplines (agriculture and resource economics, business economics, etc.).
What the Program Offers
One-on-one mentorship with faculty scholars active in animal welfare economics
Supportive conversations focused on research ideas, feedback, and professional development
A low-commitment structure: mentors and mentees meet remotely 2-4 times per academic year
Why Join?
Research shows that mentorship can significantly improve academic outcomes, from increased research productivity to greater success on the academic job market and higher likelihoods of tenure. This program is an opportunity to find guidance, encouragement, and potential collaboration with senior researchers in the field.
